Jay begins emotionally sealed and technically gifted, so the story’s real movement comes from teammates forcing him to communicate, improvise and care about an outcome beyond private competence.

Its long serialization also created familiar problems. The weaker ones delay honest conversation to manufacture another loop of jealousy or misunderstanding. Across hundreds of episodes, that difference becomes more noticeable than it would in a short seasonal story.

A visual comic depends on trust in the origin of its images.
