The World’s Finest Assassin Season 2 is scheduled for January 2027, and Crunchyroll has confirmed it will stream the sequel in territories including North America. The official September 4 update narrows the earlier 2027 window to a month and introduces a new key visual, the first main trailer and two additional cast members.
There is no exact premiere day in that announcement. January 2027 is a confirmed release window; January 1, a weekly broadcast slot and an English-dub launch are not dates that can be filled in from it.

Crunchyroll confirms Season 2 streaming
Crunchyroll’s September 4 report says it will carry the new season as it airs in North, Central and South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East and the CIS. That includes the U.S. and Canada, but it is not an unrestricted worldwide license.
The distinction from the previous news is useful. A continuation was already in production, and April’s announcement had placed it somewhere in 2027. The September update gives viewers January to plan around. It still does not provide the exact day or regional upload time needed for an episode-one reminder.
Crunchyroll also streams the first season in its licensed markets. If the gap between seasons has blurred the setup, that is the place to catch up before the new episodes arrive, subject to your local catalog.
Epona and Neusch enter the picture
The anime’s official cast announcement names Sumire Uesaka as Epona and Yusuke Tonozaki as Neusch. They join the returning central group of Lugh, Dia, Tarte and Maha.
The new poster places Lugh and Epona back to back, with the Goddess looming behind them. The main trailer moves the characters into an academy setting. Together, those promotional choices bring attention back to Lugh’s original assignment rather than presenting a disconnected new adventure.

Lugh is a reincarnated assassin whose second life comes with a condition from a goddess: he must kill the Hero who is predicted to destroy the world. The official character profile identifies Epona as that Hero, making this more than another addition to Lugh’s school circle.
Neusch brings a different pressure. The heir to the Geffis ducal family enters the royal knights’ academy tied with Lugh at the top of the S class. His profile describes ambitions to make Lugh and Tarte his subordinates. That gives the academy setting both a dangerous target and a struggle over status, without revealing where either relationship leads.
Who is making the sequel?
The official production credits list SILVER LINK. as the animation studio, Masafumi Tamura as director, Katsuhiko Takayama on series composition and scripts, Eri Osada on character designs and Kenichi Kuroda on music.
The source is Rui Tsukiyo’s light-novel series, illustrated by Reia. Its full English title is The World’s Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat, so a platform listing under that longer name is the same series, not a separate sequel or remake.
The release details still to come
The next useful announcement will be the actual January premiere day, followed by the regional streaming schedule and any dub information. A month-long release window cannot settle those questions.
