Overgeared starts its regular Japanese streaming run on Prime Video on September 27, 2026, before reaching TOKYO MX and BS11 on October 2. The anime’s September 13 update confirmed the two launch dates alongside a third trailer and new key visual. Both opening slots are at 11:30 p.m. Japan Standard Time.
So if you have seen both September and October attached to the release, neither is necessarily wrong. One is the early Japanese stream; the other is the television debut. Neither should be treated as a worldwide Prime Video release date.

Overgeared’s Japanese release schedule
The official on-air page separates the first streaming service from the TV channels and the later online rollout:
| Release | Start date | Time in Japan |
|---|---|---|
| Prime Video, early streaming | September 27, 2026 | Sundays, 11:30 p.m. JST |
| TOKYO MX and BS11 | October 2, 2026 | Fridays, 11:30 p.m. JST |
| Other listed Japanese streaming services | October 4, 2026 | Sundays, from 11:30 p.m. JST |
| AT-X | October 5, 2026 | Mondays, 10:30 p.m. JST |
The October 4 list includes familiar names such as Netflix and Disney+, but it is a Japanese distribution schedule. A service appearing there does not establish availability in its American catalog.
Where can U.S. viewers watch it?
Crunchyroll has announced Overgeared for international streaming, including the United States. Its licensing announcement lists territories worldwide except Japan and Korea. The precise U.S. episode-one streaming time is not specified in that announcement or the Japanese launch notice; September 27 should not be copied into an American watch reminder as a confirmed simulcast date.
There is a separate early cinema option. Crunchyroll’s September 1 Anime Nights announcement includes Overgeared in its September 21 sneak-peek program at participating U.S. and Canadian theaters. Those screenings use Japanese audio with English subtitles. This is an event screening, not the start of weekly episodes online; the participating cinema’s listing is the place to check the local showtime.
What the new trailer adds
The third promotional video introduces the ending song, “Ray of Emotion” by TAO. The opening is Re:name’s “SATISFY.” J.C.STAFF is animating the series, with Ayako Kono directing, Kenta Ihara handling series composition and Ryosuke Tanigawa designing the characters.
The third key visual places Grid alongside a different group of characters from the earlier ensemble image below. Both retain the weapons-and-equipment emphasis of the series’ premise.

Is Tempal the same anime as Overgeared?
Yes. The Japanese campaign uses Tempal: Item no Chikara. The original credits connect Saenal’s novel with the webtoon adaptation by Monohumbug of REDICE STUDIO and artist Team Argo.
The hook is equipment rather than instant mastery. In the VR game Satisfy, struggling player Grid gains a legendary blacksmith class but has to rebuild from a disastrous starting level. Making powerful items becomes his way forward. That makes the blacksmithing central to the premise, not just a side skill attached to another unbeatable swordsman.
